Cold

Sometimes when I feel so alone my temperature drops
It's okay, I'm not gonna die... don't call the cops

When I bleed, it's an avalanche of snow
My skin is like ice...but it doesn't show

No one can see my soul shiver
Until she comes to deliver

Deliver my ice heart to the furnace
And warm it so someone can cherish

Me for I am cold to everyone
I see someone and I run

For they don't get frostbite
So icy are these words that I write

Frost is my only friend
And it will catch me from my fall at the end

When I have nothing to lose and my life is at a close
It will be there as hopeful as a beautiful black rose
